The crucial role of Village Health Teams in HIV prevention and care for children

Jonathan has been working as a VHT for eight years in Uganda. VHT stands for Village Health Team, it is someone who has been identified in the village and trained to coordinate basic health programs including AIDS. They move from door to door to find children exposed to HIV and they actively link community members with health facilities to support these children.
